groovy eclipse batch for 2.2.1?

steve.ash
You guys created some docs for how to patch the groovy compiler to create groovy eclipse batch versions, and I definitely plan on trying that soon so I can contribute instead of just pestering the list.

Have you guys had any thoughts on an ETA for groovy 2.2.1 to be released as groovy-eclipse-batch?  There are a lot of @CompileStatic fixes that would be nice to have.

Thanks,
Steve

Not sure we have an ETA right now ... make sure a jira is logged (if you haven't)

I checked and I believe the instructions for creating the batch deliverable aren't public yet, only the pre-cursor instructions that upgrade groovy-eclipse to the latest compiler level.  Kris followed them a while back and I think they worked out for him, if you wanted to give it a go we can definitely integrate a PR.

Re: groovy eclipse batch for 2.2.1?

Kris De Volder
I made an attempt at producing a version of the batch compiler. As this is all a bit foreign/new still
 I only created a 'snapshot' version.

Steve, it would be great if you could give those a try and let me know if they look/work ok.

If so... I will do the update soon (next couple a days or so) of for Groovy 2.2.2 and make a proper release of it.

I created two artifacts:

1)         <groupId>org.codehaus.groovy</groupId>
            <artifactId>groovy-eclipse-compiler</artifactId>
            <version>2.9.0-01-SNAPSHOT</version>

2)         <groupId>org.codehaus.groovy</groupId>
            <artifactId>groovy-eclipse-batch</artifactId>
            <version>2.2.1-01-SNAPSHOT</version>

Since they are only snapshots they have not been published to maven central of course.
So you will need to add codehaus snapshot repos either to your pom or settings.xml.
E.g like this:

                <pluginRepository>
                   <id>codehaus-snapshots</id>
                   <name>codehaus-snapshots</name>
                   <url>https://nexus.codehaus.org/content/repositories/snapshots/</url>
                    <releases>
                        <enabled>false</enabled>
                        <updatePolicy>always</updatePolicy>
                        <checksumPolicy>warn</checksumPolicy>
                    </releases>
                    <snapshots>
                        <enabled>true</enabled>
                        <updatePolicy>always</updatePolicy>
                        <checksumPolicy>warn</checksumPolicy>
                    </snapshots>
                    <layout>default</layout>
                </pluginRepository>

                <repository>
                   <id>codehaus-snapshots</id>
                   <name>codehaus-snapshots</name>
                   <url>https://nexus.codehaus.org/content/repositories/snapshots/</url>
                    <releases>
                        <enabled>false</enabled>
                        <updatePolicy>always</updatePolicy>
                        <checksumPolicy>warn</checksumPolicy>
                    </releases>
                    <snapshots>
                        <enabled>true</enabled>
                        <updatePolicy>always</updatePolicy>
                        <checksumPolicy>warn</checksumPolicy>
                    </snapshots>
                    <layout>default</layout>
                </repository>

Re: groovy eclipse batch for 2.2.1?

Paul Sideleau
My company has  a very large codebase of groovy and java classes along with Spock specifications. I tried the new snapshots and everything built fine and all tests passed.

Thank you.
